Go to the official Trezor web app or the desktop app. Always verify the URL and use official links. The app will detect your device and guide you through firmware checks.
If prompted, install the latest firmware. Firmware updates include security patches and improvements — only install updates from official sources.
Follow the on-device prompts to create a new wallet. You will be shown a recovery phrase — write it down on paper and keep it offline. Never store your recovery phrase digitally.
Choose a strong PIN on the device. Consider an additional passphrase for advanced protection — treat the passphrase like a separate secret and back it up safely.
A recovery phrase is a list of words generated by your device that can be used to restore your wallet if the device is lost. Keep it offline and never share it.
The device stores keys; transactions are signed on-device. Use the official apps or integrated partners to buy or send crypto safely.
If you have your recovery phrase, you can restore funds on any compatible wallet. Without the recovery phrase or passphrase, funds cannot be recovered.
